TES 2015 - Pimp Deck Update

For those of you unfamiliar, I have posted a yearly update of my deck in the Pimp Legacy Decks thread on MTGthesource ever since 2008 (I keep links to each year's update on the home page at the bottom of the additional information tab under "other"). Within the last year, I've made a bunch of signed card connections due to the Givememana's Signed Magic: the Gathering cards group on Facebook. I was fortunate enough to be invited by an old Read More »

Enter The Stormtrooper (GP SeaTac 11/6-9/2015)

A little about myself before we get into the report. I first started playing Magic in 1995 when Ice Age & Alliances were released and stopped in 2000 after the Urza block. Retiring my "Type 1" Land Destruction and "Extended" Necro-Assault decks. In 2012 some old friends had just started playing the game and promptly got me to play with them which, of course, led to me wanting to build new decks. Read More »

My Weekend in SeaTac (11/6-9/2015)

My Grand Prix: Seattle weekend began with waking up at 4:30am, my wonderful girlfriend driving me to the airport and meeting up with Eli Kassis, Paolo Cesari and Ozzie. For as early as it was, I was absolutely wired with excitement for this event. I missed Grand Prix: New Jersey last year due to my sister's wedding, there was no chance I was going to miss out on this! The Read More »

TES Mailbox #5

Hi everyone! We're back with the mailbox, here are some more Q&A's:   Do you often find yourself casting Burning Wish for Dark Petition and searching up Empty the Warrens to get an additional storm? How often do you Dark Petition for Ad Nauseam now that all 4 Infernal Tutors are in the main deck? In the last two large events I've cast the spell three times over twenty-four rounds – twice for Ad Nauseam and Read More »

STORMING INTO EE3 (10/24/2015): 11TH

The weekend of Eternal Extravaganza 3 (EE3) or as I like to call it, "A weekend at Aaron's" begins with me taking a half-day on Friday so that I could travel down to Allentown, PA from Syracuse, NY so that I could fit in getting some cards signed at Illuxcon!     For those of you who don't know, Illuxcon is an illustration convention held in Allentown, PA every year. Which was incredibly Read More »

From ANT to TES

Three weeks ago before the banning of Dig Through Time I decided that I should start play testing The Epic Storm. This is because the format had matured to the point where it had been warped to playing Dig Through Time or just win before the card can be cast. My reasoning for this was that TES is much better at getting under the Dig Through Time decks while still Read More »

SEPTEMBER 28, 2015 B&R ANNOUNCEMENT

The September 28, 2015 B&R Announcement can be found here, for Legacy it says that Dig Through Time is banned and Black Vise is unbanned. If you came here looking for some sweet discussion on Black Vise, I apologize, there will be none – the card is unplayable. Moving on, the banning of Dig Through Time! YES! The card was format warping in a very similar way that it's sister Read More »

TES Vs. ANT

I read a lot of discussions around the internet and through coverage, people don't really seem to understand the differences between The EPIC Storm (TES) and Ad Nauseam Tendrils (ANT). Not only the card differences, but how they actually play differently and how the different versions have unique strengths. Let's start with the basics, TES is an Ad Nauseamand/or Empty the Warrens based deck while ANT is a Past in Flames/natural storm ("tutor chain") based deck. TES is Read More »

TES Mailbox #4

Hi everyone! We're back with the mailbox, here are some more Q&A's:   Why do you run a main deck Swamp rather than a Badlands? Basic lands are incredibly valuable against Tempo based strategies as well as against Death & Taxes and Lands due to Wasteland. The ability to search up a basic Swamp and cast a discard spell without having to worry about your land being destroyed is a very good feeling. I Read More »
